Description
Traditional Italian rice balls filled with meat sauce and mozzarella
Ingredients
- Salt
- Olive oil
- 1 egg
- 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup meat sauce
- 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- 2 cups Arborio rice
- 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Step 1: Combine cooked rice, meat sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan in a bowl
- Step 2: Mix well with a fork until just combined
- Step 3: Beat the egg in a separate bowl
- Step 4: Add the egg to the rice mixture and mix until a dough forms
- Step 5: Gradually add the flour and mix until just combined
- Step 6: Shape into small balls
- Step 7: Dip each ball in the beaten egg and then roll in breadcrumbs
- Step 8: Heat about 2 inches of olive oil in a deep frying pan
- Step 9: Fry the arancini until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side
- Step 10: Drain on paper towels and serve hot
