Description

A classic meatloaf with a sweet and tangy BBQ twist, wrapped in crispy bacon

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup ketchup
  • 250 g pork sausage
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 cup onion
  • 0.5 cup cheddar cheese
  • 500 g beef
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.25 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)
  2. Step 2: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, pork sausage, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, egg, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well with your hands until just combined
  3. Step 3: Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan lined with parchment paper
  4. Step 4: Spread the ketchup and BBQ sauce on top of the meatloaf
  5. Step 5: Wrap the bacon slices around the meatloaf, securing with toothpicks if needed
  6. Step 6: Bake for 45 minutes
  7. Step 7: Remove from oven and top with grated cheddar cheese
  8. Step 8: Return to oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly
  9. Step 9: Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving
