Description
Tender pulled pork in a sweet and tangy BBQ sauce, served on a soft bun
Ingredients
- 0.25 cup water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
- 0.25 cup apple cider vinegar
- 0.25 cup BBQ rub
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- 0.25 cup BBQ sauce
- 0.25 cup brown sugar
- 4 hamburger buns
- Coleslaw
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 2 pounds pork shoulder
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C)
- Step 2: In a small bowl, mix together BBQ rub, brown sugar, smoked paprika, chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper
- Step 3: Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder, making sure to coat it evenly
- Step 4: Place the pork shoulder in a large Dutch oven or oven-safe pot
- Step 5: Add apple cider vinegar and water to the pot, cover with a lid
- Step 6: Transfer the pot to the preheated oven and braise for 6 hours, or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork
- Step 7: After 6 hours, remove the pot from the oven and carefully shred the pork with two forks
- Step 8: Add BBQ sauce to the shredded pork and toss to coat
- Step 9: Split the hamburger buns in half and toast until lightly browned
- Step 10: Spoon the pulled pork onto the buns and top with coleslaw
