Description

Ingredients

  • 0.25 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 0.25 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 0.25 cup BBQ rub
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 cup BBQ sauce
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Coleslaw
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 2 pounds pork shoulder

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C)
  2. Step 2: In a small bowl, mix together BBQ rub, brown sugar, smoked paprika, chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper
  3. Step 3: Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder, making sure to coat it evenly
  4. Step 4: Place the pork shoulder in a large Dutch oven or oven-safe pot
  5. Step 5: Add apple cider vinegar and water to the pot, cover with a lid
  6. Step 6: Transfer the pot to the preheated oven and braise for 6 hours, or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork
  7. Step 7: After 6 hours, remove the pot from the oven and carefully shred the pork with two forks
  8. Step 8: Add BBQ sauce to the shredded pork and toss to coat
  9. Step 9: Split the hamburger buns in half and toast until lightly browned
  10. Step 10: Spoon the pulled pork onto the buns and top with coleslaw
