Description
Pan-seared beef tenderloin served with a rich and earthy mushroom sauce
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 0.25 cup flour
- 1 pound beef tenderloin
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 cup heavy cream
- 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup beef broth
- 0.5 teaspoon paprika
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 ounces mixed mushrooms
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Step 2: Season the beef tenderloin with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Step 3: Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the beef tenderloin for 2-3 minutes per side, then transfer to the preheated oven and cook for 15-20 minutes or until it reaches your desired level of doneness.
- Step 4: While the beef is cooking, sauté the mushrooms and garlic in butter until they release their moisture and start to brown.
- Step 5: Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Step 6: Gradually pour in the beef broth and heavy cream, whisking continuously. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until it thickens, stirring occasionally.
- Step 7: Remove the beef from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Step 8: Serve the sliced beef with the mushroom sauce spooned over the top.
