Description

Pan-seared beef tenderloin served with a rich and earthy mushroom sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 0.25 cup flour
  • 1 pound beef tenderloin
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 ounces mixed mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Step 2: Season the beef tenderloin with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  3. Step 3: Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the beef tenderloin for 2-3 minutes per side, then transfer to the preheated oven and cook for 15-20 minutes or until it reaches your desired level of doneness.
  4. Step 4: While the beef is cooking, sauté the mushrooms and garlic in butter until they release their moisture and start to brown.
  5. Step 5: Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  6. Step 6: Gradually pour in the beef broth and heavy cream, whisking continuously. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until it thickens, stirring occasionally.
  7. Step 7: Remove the beef from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  8. Step 8: Serve the sliced beef with the mushroom sauce spooned over the top.
