Beef with Black Bean Sauce

Description

Stir-fried beef strips cooked in a savory black bean sauce, served with steamed vegetables

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 cups broccoli
  • 2 tablespoons black bean paste
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 500 g beef strips
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 cup mixed bell peppers
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
  2. Step 2: Add beef strips and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from wok and set aside.
  3. Step 3: In the same wok, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
  4. Step 4: Add minced garlic and grated ginger and stir-fry until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  5. Step 5: Add sliced onion and mixed bell peppers and stir-fry until the vegetables are tender-crisp, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Step 6: Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for another minute.
  7. Step 7: Add black bean paste, soy sauce, and sesame oil to the wok. Stir-fry for 1 minute, until the sauce is bubbly and slightly thickened.
  8. Step 8: Return the cooked beef strips to the wok and stir-fry until the beef is well coated with the sauce.
  9. Step 9: Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  10. Step 10: Serve immediately, garnished with sliced green onions if desired.
