Description
A comforting, creamy macaroni and cheese dish loaded with ground beef and a crispy breadcrumb topping.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cups cheddar cheese
- 1 onion
- 3 cloves garlic
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 oz macaroni
- 1 cup milk
- 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 teaspoon basil
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Step 2: Cook macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Step 3: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking into small pieces as it cooks.
- Step 4: Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is translucent.
- Step 5: Stir in beef broth, milk, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Bring mixture to a simmer and let cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Step 6: In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked macaroni, the beef mixture, and shredded cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese. Stir until well combined.
- Step 7: Transfer macaroni mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish. Top with breadcrumbs.
- Step 8: Bake in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until top is golden brown and macaroni and cheese is heated through.
