Description
A decadent sandwich featuring a flaky biscuit, crispy bacon, and a fried egg, all held together with melted cheddar cheese.
Ingredients
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 cups cheddar cheese
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 0.75 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 cup butter
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- Lettuce, tomato, and pickles
- 6 slices bacon
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Step 2: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Step 3: Add buttermilk and stir until dough comes together in a shaggy mass.
- Step 4: Turn dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead a few times until it comes together.
- Step 5: Roll dough out to 1-inch thickness and use a biscuit cutter or glass to cut out rounds.
- Step 6: Place biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Step 7: While biscuits are baking, cook bacon slices in a skillet over medium heat until crispy.
- Step 8: In a separate skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Crack in eggs and cook until whites are set and yolks are cooked to desired doneness.
- Step 9: To assemble sandwiches, split biscuits in half horizontally. Spread mayonnaise and Dijon mustard on the bottom half of each biscuit.
- Step 10: Add a few slices of bacon, a fried egg, and a sprinkle of cheddar cheese to each biscuit. Top with lettuce, tomato, and pickles as desired.
- Step 11: Place top half of biscuit on each sandwich and serve immediately.
