Description
A classic Southern dish featuring crispy, spicy catfish
Ingredients
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 lemons
- 2 tbsp blackening seasoning
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 4 fillets catfish
- 2 tbsp butter
- 0.25 tsp cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Step 2: In a small bowl, mix together blackening seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Step 3: Dip each catfish fillet into the melted butter, then coat in the spice mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
- Step 4: Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 tbsp of melted butter and swirl to coat.
- Step 5: Add 2 catfish fillets to the skillet and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side. Transfer to oven and bake for 8-10 minutes or until cooked through.
- Step 6: Repeat with remaining catfish fillets.
- Step 7: Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side.
