Description
Pan-seared tilapia fillets with a spicy blackening seasoning, served with a side of garlic butter
Ingredients
- 4 oz tilapia fillets
- 0.25 cup butter
- 2 tbsp blackening seasoning
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 2 lemons
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Step 2: In a small bowl, mix together blackening seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Step 3: Brush both sides of tilapia fillets with softened butter, then coat with blackening seasoning mixture.
- Step 4: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add coated tilapia fillets and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Step 5: Transfer skillet to preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes or until cooked through.
- Step 6: While tilapia is cooking, mix softened butter and minced garlic in a small bowl.
- Step 7: Serve blackened tilapia with garlic butter on top and a squeeze of lemon juice.
