Description

Pan-seared tilapia fillets with a spicy blackening seasoning, served with a side of garlic butter

Ingredients

  • 4 oz tilapia fillets
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 2 tbsp blackening seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 lemons
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Step 2: In a small bowl, mix together blackening seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Step 3: Brush both sides of tilapia fillets with softened butter, then coat with blackening seasoning mixture.
  4. Step 4: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add coated tilapia fillets and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  5. Step 5: Transfer skillet to preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes or until cooked through.
  6. Step 6: While tilapia is cooking, mix softened butter and minced garlic in a small bowl.
  7. Step 7: Serve blackened tilapia with garlic butter on top and a squeeze of lemon juice.
