Description
A classic Vietnamese sandwich filled with grilled pork, pickled carrots, and fresh herbs
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- 0.25 cup cilantro
- 1 lb pork shoulder
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 4 bread rolls Bánh Mì
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- 0.25 cup fish sauce
- 1 cucumber
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 large carrot
- 1 tsp salt
- 0.25 cup mint
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large bowl, whisk together fish sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, and vegetable oil
- Step 2: Add sliced pork to the marinade and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes
- Step 3: Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat
- Step 4: Remove pork from marinade and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until cooked through
- Step 5: Meanwhile, toast Bánh Mì bread rolls by grilling or baking for 2-3 minutes
- Step 6: Spread mayonnaise on each toasted bread roll
- Step 7: Add sliced grilled pork, pickled carrots, cucumber, cilantro, mint, salt, and pepper to each bread roll
- Step 8: Serve immediately
