Pan-seared ribeye steak smothered in a rich bourbon glaze

Ingredients

  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 each ribeye steaks
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 0.5 cup bourbon whiskey
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Step 2: In a small saucepan, combine bourbon, brown sugar, mustard, and thyme. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Step 3: Season the ribeye steaks with salt and pepper.
  4. Step 4: Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over high heat. Sear the steaks for 2-3 minutes per side, then transfer the skillet to the preheated oven.
  5. Step 5: Roast the steaks in the oven for 8-10 minutes, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  6. Step 6: While the steaks are cooking, brush the bourbon glaze all over the steaks.
  7. Step 7: Remove the steaks from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
