Description
Flaky buttermilk biscuits filled with crispy fried chicken, topped with a fried egg and served with a side of spicy maple syrup
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 0.75 cup buttermilk
- 0.5 cup butter
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 cup flour
- 1 pound chicken breast
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 4 eggs
- Vegetable oil
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- Spicy maple syrup
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Step 2: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Step 3: Add the buttermilk and stir until the dough comes together. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead a few times until it becomes smooth.
- Step 4: Roll the dough out to about 1 inch thickness and use a biscuit cutter to cut out 4 biscuits. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Step 5: Bake the biscuits in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
