Description

Ingredients
- 0.75 cup buttermilk
- 0.5 cup butter
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 0.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Step 3: Cut the cold butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Step 4: Add buttermilk and stir the mixture with a fork until it forms a shaggy dough.
- Step 5: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead it 2-3 times until it comes together.
- Step 6: Roll the dough out to a thickness of about 1 inch (2.5 cm) and use a biscuit cutter or the rim of a glass to cut out biscuits.
- Step 7: Gather the scraps, re-roll the dough, and cut out additional biscuits.
- Step 8: Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch (2.5 cm) of space between each biscuit.
- Step 9: Brush the tops of the biscuits with a little extra melted butter.
- Step 10: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
