Description
A classic Louisiana dish featuring blackened catfish with a spicy Cajun twist
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp paprika
- 2 lemons
- 1 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 fillets catfish
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- parsley
- 0.5 cup blackening seasoning
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Step 2: In a small bowl, mix together blackening seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
- Step 3: Brush both sides of the catfish fillets with butter.
- Step 4: Coat each fillet with the spice mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
- Step 5: Heat a large oven-safe skillet over high heat. Sear the catfish for 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Step 6: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes or until cooked through.
- Step 7: Serve immediately with lemon wedges and garnish with parsley.
