Description
Spicy Cajun-style chicken wings with a crispy exterior and juicy interior
Ingredients
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce
- Vegetable oil
- 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
- 0.5 cup buttermilk
- 2 pounds chicken wings
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large bowl, combine buttermilk, hot sauce, Cajun seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until smooth.
- Step 2: Add chicken wings to the bowl and marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Step 3: Preheat oil in a deep frying pan to 375°F.
- Step 4: In a separate bowl, mix together flour and a pinch of salt.
- Step 5: Remove wings from marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge in flour mixture, shaking off excess.
- Step 6: Fry wings in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes per batch.
- Step 7: Drain wings on paper towels and serve hot.
