Description
A crispy, cheesy, bacon-filled twist on classic tater tots
Ingredients
- 0.25 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 6 slices bacon
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.25 cup flour
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
- 0.5 cup cheddar cheese
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 large potatoes
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Step 2: Grate the potatoes using a box grater and squeeze out excess moisture.
- Step 3: In a bowl, combine the grated potatoes, flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well.
- Step 4: In a separate bowl, mix the cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon.
- Step 5: Add the milk, egg, and cheese-bacon mixture to the potato mixture. Stir until well combined.
- Step 6: Using your hands, shape the mixture into small cylindrical tots, about 1 1/2 inches long and 1 inch in diameter.
- Step 7: Roll the tots in panko breadcrumbs to coat.
- Step 8: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. When hot, add the tots and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 3-4 minutes.
- Step 9: Transfer the tots to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown.
