Description
Pan-seared chicken breasts with Marsala wine and mushroom sauce
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 0.5 cup chicken broth
- Salt and pepper
- 2 cups mixed mushrooms
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 cup Marsala wine
- 4 chicken breasts
Instructions
- Step 1: Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and thyme
- Step 2: Dredge the chicken in flour, shaking off excess
- Step 3: Heat butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat
- Step 4: Sear the chicken until browned, about 2-3 minutes per side
- Step 5: Transfer the chicken to a plate and set aside
- Step 6: Add the mushrooms and garlic to the skillet, cook until the mushrooms release their liquid and start to brown
- Step 7: Add the Marsala wine and chicken broth to the skillet, scraping up any browned bits
- Step 8: Return the chicken to the skillet and simmer until the sauce has thickened and the chicken is cooked through
- Step 9: Serve hot, spooning the sauce over the top of the chicken
