Description

A traditional Hungarian stew made with chicken, paprika, and sour cream

Ingredients

  • 2 medium onions
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • 0.25 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp paprika
  • 0.25 cup sour cream
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 0.5 pounds chicken thighs
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 medium bell peppers

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat
  2. Step 2: Add chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes
  3. Step 3: Add onions, garlic, and bell peppers, cook until vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes
  4. Step 4: Add paprika, caraway seeds, salt, and pepper, cook for 1 minute
  5. Step 5: Add chicken broth and bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes
  6. Step 6: Stir in sour cream and cook for an additional 5 minutes
