Description
A classic ballpark-inspired hot dog smothered in chili and melted cheese
Ingredients
- 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 lb ground beef
- 3 cloves garlic
- 4 hot dogs
- 1 red bell pepper
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 cup cheddar cheese
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- Salt and pepper
- 1 large onion
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 cup beef broth
- 4 hot dog buns
Instructions
- Step 1: Cook hot dogs according to package instructions
- Step 2: In a large pot, brown ground beef over medium-high heat, breaking into small pieces as it cooks
- Step 3: Add onion, garlic, and red bell pepper to pot and cook until vegetables are softened
- Step 4: Stir in chili powder, cumin, and cayenne pepper and cook for 1 minute
- Step 5: Add diced tomatoes and beef broth to pot and bring to a simmer
- Step 6: Reduce heat to low and let chili simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally
- Step 7: Split hot dog buns in half and toast until lightly browned
- Step 8: Assemble hot dogs by placing each hot dog in a bun, spooning chili over top, and sprinkling with shredded cheese
