Description

A classic ballpark-inspired hot dog smothered in chili and melted cheese

Ingredients

  • 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 4 hot dogs
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 4 hot dog buns

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Cook hot dogs according to package instructions
  2. Step 2: In a large pot, brown ground beef over medium-high heat, breaking into small pieces as it cooks
  3. Step 3: Add onion, garlic, and red bell pepper to pot and cook until vegetables are softened
  4. Step 4: Stir in chili powder, cumin, and cayenne pepper and cook for 1 minute
  5. Step 5: Add diced tomatoes and beef broth to pot and bring to a simmer
  6. Step 6: Reduce heat to low and let chili simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally
  7. Step 7: Split hot dog buns in half and toast until lightly browned
  8. Step 8: Assemble hot dogs by placing each hot dog in a bun, spooning chili over top, and sprinkling with shredded cheese
