Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 0.75 cup sugar
- 0.5 cups flour
- Fortune slips
- 0.5 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup butter
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Step 2: Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Step 3: In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
- Step 4: Beat in eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
- Step 5: Gradually mix in the flour mixture until a dough forms.
- Step 6: Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving 2 inches of space between each cookie.
- Step 7: Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Step 8: Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Step 9: Melt chocolate chips in a double boiler or in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring between each interval until smooth.
