Description
A classic ice cream cone dipped in rich, velvety chocolate
Ingredients
- 0.5 quarts vanilla soft serve ice cream
- 1 tablespoon shortening
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 12 cones waffle
Instructions
- Step 1: Scoop the soft serve ice cream into a piping bag fitted with a large round tip
- Step 2: Pipe the ice cream into the waffle cones, filling them about 3/4 of the way full
- Step 3: Melt the chocolate chips in a double boiler or in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring between each interval until smooth
- Step 4: Stir in the shortening until combined
- Step 5: Dip the top of each ice cream cone into the melted chocolate, using a spatula or spoon to fully coat the cone
- Step 6: Place the dipped cones on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set the chocolate
