Description
A classic San Francisco-style seafood stew originating from Italian-American fishermen
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 0.5 teaspoon thyme
- 1 pound mussels
- 0.5 cups onion
- 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 pound shrimp
- 3 cloves garlic
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup fish stock
- 0.5 teaspoon paprika
- 1 pound firm white fish
- 1 pound clams
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 can crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup dry white wine
- 2 tablespoons parsley
Instructions
- Step 1: Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat
- Step 2: Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes
- Step 3: Add garlic and cook for 1 minute
- Step 4: Add crushed tomatoes, wine, fish stock, oregano, thyme, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper
- Step 5: Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes
- Step 6: Add clams and mussels, cover, and cook until they open, about 5 minutes
- Step 7: Add fish and shrimp, cover, and cook until seafood is cooked through, about 5 minutes
- Step 8: Stir in parsley and serve hot
