Description

Creamy and flavorful New England-style clam chowder

Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 potatoes
  • 1 pound clams
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup clam juice

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat
  2. Step 2: Add onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes
  3. Step 3: Add clams, clam juice, milk, heavy cream, potatoes, thyme, salt, and pepper
  4. Step 4: Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes
  5. Step 5: Use an immersion blender to puree the soup until smooth
  6. Step 6: Serve hot
