Description
Soft, gooey, and utterly delicious cinnamon rolls filled with sweet cinnamon and topped with a crumbly streusel topping.
Ingredients
- 4 cups flour
- 0.5 cup streusel topping
- 0.5 cup brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 0.5 cup cinnamon sugar
- 2 cups water
- 0.25 cup unsalted butter
- 2 teaspoons yeast
- 2 large eggs
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Stir to dissolve yeast, and let sit for 5 to 10 minutes until frothy.
- Step 2: Add flour, salt, and melted butter to the bowl. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Step 3: Knead the dough for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Step 4: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Step 5: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Step 6: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to a 1/4-inch thickness.
- Step 7: In a small bowl, mix together cinnamon sugar, brown sugar, and eggs. Spread the mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
- Step 8: Roll the dough into a tight log, starting from the long side. Cut into 12 equal pieces.
- Step 9: Place the rolls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between each roll.
- Step 10: Sprinkle streusel topping evenly over the rolls.
