Description
Spicy jalapeño peppers filled with a tangy cream cheese mixture, crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside.
Ingredients
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 0.25 cup cilantro
- 0.5 cup cheddar cheese
- 12 large jalapeño peppers
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
- 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Step 2: Cut off the tops of the jalapeño peppers and scoop out the seeds and membranes.
- Step 3: In a bowl, mix together the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, cilantro, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Step 4: Stuff each jalapeño pepper with the cream cheese mixture.
- Step 5: In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, panko breadcrumbs, and a pinch of salt.
- Step 6: Dip each stuffed jalapeño pepper in the flour mixture, then the eggs, and finally the panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
- Step 7: Place the coated jalapeño peppers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Step 8: Drizzle with buttermilk and gently toss to coat.
