Ingredients
- 2 medium carrots
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 1 medium onion
- 0.5 teaspoon basil
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 8 ounces egg noodles
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 stalks celery
- 0.5 pounds chicken breast or thighs
Instructions
- Step 1: Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat.
- Step 2: Add onion, garlic, carrots, and celery and cook until vegetables are tender, about 8 minutes.
- Step 3: Add chicken to the pot and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Step 4: Pour in chicken broth, thyme, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Step 5: Add noodles to the pot and cook until tender, about 8 minutes.
- Step 6: In a small bowl, whisk together flour and heavy cream. Stir into the pot and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
