Ingredients

  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • Vegetable oil
  • 2 large Russet potatoes
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 0.25 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 0.25 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In a large bowl, combine grated potatoes, flour, Cajun seasoning, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  2. Step 2: Squeeze out excess moisture from the potato mixture using a cheesecloth or paper towels.
  3. Step 3: In a separate bowl, mix together melted butter, beaten egg, and panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Step 4: Add the wet ingredients to the potato mixture and stir until just combined.
  5. Step 5: Using your hands, shape the mixture into 6-8 patties.
  6. Step 6: Heat about 1/2-inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  7. Step 7: When the oil is hot, add 2-3 patties to the skillet and fry for 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Step 8: Repeat with the remaining patties.
