Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Maple syrup
- 0.5 cups flour
- 1 pound chicken breast
- 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
- 0.5 cup butter
- dill pickle
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 large eggs
- 0.75 cup buttermilk
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Step 3: Add buttermilk and stir until dough comes together. Turn dough out onto a floured surface and knead a few times until smooth.
- Step 4: Roll dough out to about 1 inch (2.5 cm) thickness. Cut into 4 rounds.
- Step 5: Place biscuits on prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Step 6: In a separate bowl, mix together flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Step 7: Dip each piece of chicken into flour mixture, shaking off excess, then into beaten eggs, and finally into panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
- Step 8: Heat about 1/2 inch (1 cm) of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side.
- Step 9: To assemble, split biscuits in half and top with fried chicken, maple syrup, and pickle slices.
