Description
Crispy, flavorful falafel served with a creamy tahini sauce
Ingredients
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 cup chickpeas
- 0.25 cup cilantro
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 0.5 cup tahini
- 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 0.25 cup parsley
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 0.25 cup lemon juice
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.25 cup water
- Salt and pepper
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Step 2: In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, garlic, parsley, cilantro, lemon juice, cumin, coriander, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Process until the mixture is well combined and slightly chunky.
- Step 3: Transfer the mixture to a bowl and stir in the flour.
- Step 4: Using your hands, shape the mixture into small patties, about 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm) in diameter and 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) thick.
- Step 5: Place the patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush with olive oil.
- Step 6: Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping the patties halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Step 7: While the falafel is baking, prepare the tahini sauce. In a blender or food processor, combine the tahini, lemon juice, garlic, and water. Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Step 8: Season the tahini sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
- Step 9: Serve the crispy falafel with the tahini sauce for dipping.
