Description
A crispy and flavorful fish sandwich made with cod, lettuce, and tartar sauce on a toasted brioche bun.
Ingredients
- 0.5 teaspoon paprika
- 4 buns brioche
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 4 fillets cod
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 leaves lettuce
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 tablespoons tartar sauce
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 slices tomato
Instructions
- Step 1: In a shallow dish, mix together flour, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
- Step 2: Pour panko breadcrumbs into a separate shallow dish.
- Step 3: In a third shallow dish, whisk together eggs and buttermilk.
- Step 4: Dip each cod fillet into the flour mixture, then the egg mixture, and finally the panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
- Step 5: Heat about 1/2-inch of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F.
- Step 6: Add 2 cod fillets to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Step 7: Repeat with the remaining 2 cod fillets.
- Step 8: Meanwhile, toast the brioche buns by grilling them lightly or baking them in the oven at 350°F for 2-3 minutes.
- Step 9: Assemble the sandwiches by spreading tartar sauce on the bottom bun, followed by a cooked cod fillet, lettuce, tomato, and finally the top bun.
- Step 10: Drizzle with melted butter and serve immediately.
