Description
Flaky, buttery croissant filled with scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and melted cheddar cheese
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0.25 cup butter
- 0.5 cups milk
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup cheddar cheese
- 0.25 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons yeast
- 6 slices bacon
- 1.5 cups flour
Instructions
- Step 1: In a small bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until yeast is activated.
- Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and melted butter. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Step 3: Add yeast mixture to the dough and mix until a smooth dough forms.
- Step 4: Knead the dough for 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Step 5: Roll out the dough to a thickness of 1/4 inch. Fold it into thirds and rotate 90 degrees. Roll out to a thickness of 1/4 inch again.
- Step 6: Cut out 4-6 rectangles of dough, depending on desired size.
- Step 7: Roll each rectangle into a croissant shape. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Step 8: Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Step 9: While croissants are baking, cook bacon slices in a pan until crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- Step 10: Scramble eggs in a bowl and season with salt and pepper.
- Step 11: Assemble the sandwiches by spreading scrambled eggs on the bottom half of the croissant, topping with a few slices of bacon, and sprinkling shredded cheese.
- Step 12: Place the top half of the croissant on the sandwich and serve immediately.
