Description
A juicy double-layered cheeseburger with melted cheddar and caramelized onions
Ingredients
- 8 ounces ground beef
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 leaves lettuce
- 1 large onion
- 4 slices bread
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 slices pickle
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 slices tomato
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well with your hands until just combined.
- Step 3: Form 4 equal-sized patties and set aside.
- Step 4: In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook for 20-25 minutes or until caramelized.
- Step 5: Add garlic to the skillet and cook for 1 minute.
- Step 6: Grill the patties for 4-5 minutes per side or until cooked to your desired level of doneness.
- Step 7: Meanwhile, toast the buns on the grill or in a toaster.
- Step 8: Assemble the burger by spreading a slice of cheese on the bottom bun, followed by a cooked patty, a few slices of caramelized onion, a lettuce leaf, a tomato slice, and a pickle slice. Repeat the layers, finishing with a slice of cheese and the top bun.
