Description

A classic St. Louis-style pork ribs recipe with a dry rub and slow-cooked to perfection

Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup dry rub
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 4 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 racks St. Louis-style pork ribs
  • 2 tablespoons kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 275°F (135°C).
  2. Step 2: In a small bowl, mix together dry rub ingredients.
  3. Step 3: Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs (this will help the rub penetrate the meat).
  4. Step 4: Apply the dry rub evenly to both racks of ribs, making sure to coat all surfaces.
  5. Step 5: Place the ribs on a large baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, bone-side down.
  6. Step 6: Bake the ribs for 2 hours, or until they start to tenderize and the meat starts to pull away from the bone.
  7. Step 7: While the ribs are baking, mix together apple cider vinegar and water in a small bowl.
  8. Step 8: After 2 hours, brush the ribs with the vinegar mixture and continue to bake for another 30 minutes.
  9. Step 9: Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving with barbecue sauce.
