Description
A classic St. Louis-style pork ribs recipe with a dry rub and slow-cooked to perfection
Ingredients
- 0.5 cup dry rub
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 4 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 2 racks St. Louis-style pork ribs
- 2 tablespoons kosher salt
- 2 tablespoons water
- 0.25 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 275°F (135°C).
- Step 2: In a small bowl, mix together dry rub ingredients.
- Step 3: Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs (this will help the rub penetrate the meat).
- Step 4: Apply the dry rub evenly to both racks of ribs, making sure to coat all surfaces.
- Step 5: Place the ribs on a large baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, bone-side down.
- Step 6: Bake the ribs for 2 hours, or until they start to tenderize and the meat starts to pull away from the bone.
- Step 7: While the ribs are baking, mix together apple cider vinegar and water in a small bowl.
- Step 8: After 2 hours, brush the ribs with the vinegar mixture and continue to bake for another 30 minutes.
- Step 9: Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving with barbecue sauce.
