Description

A classic breakfast recipe where eggs are cooked inside a hole cut out of a slice of bread

Ingredients

  • 4 slices bread
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 eggs

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat
  2. Step 2: Butter one side of each bread slice
  3. Step 3: Place one slice of bread, butter-side down, in the skillet
  4. Step 4: Cut a hole in the center of the bread slice, about 3 inches in diameter
  5. Step 5: Crack an egg into the hole
  6. Step 6: Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the egg whites are set and the bread is golden brown
  7. Step 7: Flip the bread over and cook for another minute
  8. Step 8: Repeat with the remaining bread slices and eggs
  9. Step 9: Season with salt and pepper to taste
