Description

Crispy, flavorful chickpea patties from the Middle East

Ingredients

  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup cilantro
  • 0.25 cup parsley
  • 1 cup chickpeas
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Step 2: In a food processor, combine chickpeas, garlic, parsley, cilantro, lemon juice, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Process until coarsely chopped.
  3. Step 3: Transfer the mixture to a bowl and stir in flour.
  4. Step 4: Using your hands, shape the mixture into 8-10 patties.
  5. Step 5: Place the patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle with olive oil.
  6. Step 6: Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping the patties halfway through, until crispy and golden brown.
  7. Step 7: Serve hot in pita bread with your favorite toppings.
