Description
Crispy, flavorful chickpea patties from the Middle East
Ingredients
- 2 cloves garlic
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 0.25 cup cilantro
- 0.25 cup parsley
- 1 cup chickpeas
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Step 2: In a food processor, combine chickpeas, garlic, parsley, cilantro, lemon juice, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Process until coarsely chopped.
- Step 3: Transfer the mixture to a bowl and stir in flour.
- Step 4: Using your hands, shape the mixture into 8-10 patties.
- Step 5: Place the patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle with olive oil.
- Step 6: Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping the patties halfway through, until crispy and golden brown.
- Step 7: Serve hot in pita bread with your favorite toppings.
