Ingredients
- 0.25 cup Ice Water
- 0.5 cup Cold Unsalted Butter
- 1 Egg
- 6 Medium Apples
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 0.5 cup Caramel Sauce
- 1 tsp Salt
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Step 2: In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add sugar, then cold butter. Use a pastry blender or fingers to work butter into flour until crumbly.
- Step 3: Gradually add ice water, stirring with a fork until dough comes together.
- Step 4: Roll out dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thickness.
- Step 5: Transfer dough to a 9-inch pie dish and trim edges to fit.
- Step 6: In a separate bowl, mix sliced apples and caramel sauce.
- Step 7: Pour apple mixture into pie crust.
- Step 8: Roll out remaining dough to fit top of pie. Crimp edges to seal.
- Step 9: Cut a few slits in top crust for ventilation.
- Step 10: Brush egg wash over top crust.
- Step 11: Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and apples are tender.
