Description
Crispy fish, tangy slaw, and a dollop of lime crema come together in a delicious Mexican-inspired dish
Ingredients
- 1 clove garlic
- Vegetable oil
- 8 tortillas corn
- 0.25 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup cilantro
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 pound cod fillets
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 lime
- 1 cup red cabbage
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Step 1: In a shallow dish, mix together flour, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper
- Step 2: Pour buttermilk into a separate shallow dish
- Step 3: Dip each piece of fish into buttermilk, then coat in flour mixture, shaking off excess
- Step 4: Heat 1/2 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat
- Step 5: Fry fish until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side
- Step 6: Drain fish on paper towels
- Step 7: Warm tortillas by wrapping them in a damp paper towel and microwaving for 20-30 seconds
- Step 8: Assemble tacos by placing a piece of fish onto a tortilla, topping with shredded cabbage, diced cilantro, and a dollop of lime crema
- Step 9: To make lime crema, mix together Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, lime juice, and garlic in a bowl
