Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • Remoulade sauce
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil
  • 4 large green tomatoes
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In a shallow dish, mix together flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper
  2. Step 2: Pour buttermilk into a separate shallow dish
  3. Step 3: Dip each tomato slice into buttermilk, then coat in flour mixture, shaking off excess
  4. Step 4: Dip flour-coated tomato slice into panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere
  5. Step 5: Heat about 1/2-inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat
  6. Step 6: Fry tomato slices in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side
  7. Step 7: Drain fried tomatoes on paper towels
  8. Step 8: Serve immediately with remoulade sauce
