Description
Quick and flavorful pasta dish loaded with succulent shrimp in a rich garlic butter sauce
Ingredients
- 0.25 cup white wine
- 4 cloves garlic
- 0.5 cup unsalted butter
- 1 pound shrimp
- 2 tsp parsley
- Salt and pepper
- 0.25 cup lemon juice
- 12 oz fettuccine pasta
- Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Step 1: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook fettuccine pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
- Step 2: In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, for 4-5 minutes or until fragrant and lightly golden.
- Step 3: Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, for 2-3 minutes per side or until pink and cooked through.
- Step 4: Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter to the skillet.
- Step 5: Once the butter has melted, add the white wine and lemon juice to the skillet. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
- Step 6: Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes or until slightly thickened. Stir in parsley and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Step 7: Add the cooked fettuccine pasta to the skillet, tossing to combine with the garlic butter sauce. If the sauce seems too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water.
- Step 8: Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss to combine with the pasta and sauce.
- Step 9: Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
