Creamy mashed potatoes infused with roasted garlic and served with a rich beef gravy
Ingredients
- 6 cloves garlic
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Salt and pepper
- 0.5 cup beef broth
- 2 cups beef stock
- 3 large potatoes
- 0.25 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Step 2: Toss chopped garlic with 1 tablespoon of butter and roast in the oven for 15-20 minutes, or until tender.
- Step 3: Boil chopped potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Step 4: Drain potatoes and mash with 1/4 cup milk, 1 tablespoon butter, and roasted garlic.
- Step 5: In a small saucepan, whisk together beef broth and flour. Bring to a boil and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until thickened.
- Step 6: Add beef stock, thyme, salt, and pepper to the saucepan. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until gravy has thickened to desired consistency.
- Step 7: Serve mashed potatoes with garlic gravy spooned over the top.
