Description
Soft, buttery, and flavorful Indian flatbread infused with garlic and herbs
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0.25 cup cilantro
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 0.25 cup butter
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 cups flour
- 0.5 cup water
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast
- Step 2: Gradually add lukewarm water and mix until a soft dough forms
- Step 3: Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic
- Step 4: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours
- Step 5: Preheat a non-stick skillet or tava over medium heat
- Step 6: Divide the dough into 6-8 equal portions
- Step 7: Roll out each portion into a ball and then flatten slightly into an oval shape
- Step 8: Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with minced garlic and chopped cilantro
- Step 9: Cook the naan for 1-2 minutes on each side, until golden brown and puffed up
