Description

Soft, buttery, and flavorful Indian flatbread infused with garlic and herbs

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 cup cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 cups flour
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast
  2. Step 2: Gradually add lukewarm water and mix until a soft dough forms
  3. Step 3: Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic
  4. Step 4: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours
  5. Step 5: Preheat a non-stick skillet or tava over medium heat
  6. Step 6: Divide the dough into 6-8 equal portions
  7. Step 7: Roll out each portion into a ball and then flatten slightly into an oval shape
  8. Step 8: Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with minced garlic and chopped cilantro
