Description
A flavorful and spicy twist on traditional fajitas, served in a warm pita bread
Ingredients
- 0.5 pounds chicken breast
- 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 bell peppers
- 0.25 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper
- 0.25 teaspoon paprika
- 0.25 cup lime juice
- 0.25 cup cilantro
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 large onion
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 2 large pita breads
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat grill to medium-high heat
- Step 2: In a large bowl, whisk together lime juice, garlic, oregano, cumin, paprika, and cayenne pepper
- Step 3: Add the chicken to the bowl and toss to coat
- Step 4: Grill the chicken for 5-6 minutes per side, or until cooked through
- Step 5: Meanwhile, grill the onion and bell peppers for 3-4 minutes per side, or until tender
- Step 6: Warm the pita breads by wrapping them in foil and heating them on the grill for 2-3 minutes
- Step 7: Assemble the fajita pitas by slicing the grilled chicken and vegetables and serving them in the pita breads with cilantro and a squeeze of lime juice
