Description
Comforting and classic chicken noodle soup made with tender chicken, vegetables, and homemade noodles
Ingredients
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 8 ounces egg noodles
- 0.5 pounds chicken breast or thighs
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 0.5 teaspoon basil
- 3 cloves garlic
- 2 carrots
- 2 stalks celery
- 1 large onion
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large pot or Dutch oven, sauté the diced onion, minced garlic, sliced carrots, and sliced celery in a little bit of oil until the vegetables are tender
- Step 2: Add the chicken to the pot and cook until browned on all sides
- Step 3: Pour in the chicken broth, dried thyme, dried basil, salt, and pepper
- Step 4: Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer and let cook for 10-12 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through
- Step 5: Add the egg noodles to the pot and cook for an additional 8-10 minutes or until the noodles are tender
