Description

Comforting and classic chicken noodle soup made with tender chicken, vegetables, and homemade noodles

Ingredients

  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 0.5 pounds chicken breast or thighs
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 0.5 teaspoon basil
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 stalks celery
  • 1 large onion

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In a large pot or Dutch oven, sauté the diced onion, minced garlic, sliced carrots, and sliced celery in a little bit of oil until the vegetables are tender
  2. Step 2: Add the chicken to the pot and cook until browned on all sides
  3. Step 3: Pour in the chicken broth, dried thyme, dried basil, salt, and pepper
  4. Step 4: Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer and let cook for 10-12 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through
  5. Step 5: Add the egg noodles to the pot and cook for an additional 8-10 minutes or until the noodles are tender
