Ingredients

  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.75 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 4 chicken breasts

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Step 2: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Step 3: Add buttermilk and stir until dough comes together in a shaggy mass.
  4. Step 4: Turn dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently until it comes together.
  5. Step 5: Roll dough out to 1-inch thickness and use a biscuit cutter to cut out rounds.
  6. Step 6: Place biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Step 7: In a small bowl, whisk together honey and softened butter until smooth.
  8. Step 8: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  9. Step 9: Dredge chicken breasts in flour mixture, shaking off excess.
  10. Step 10: Dip floured chicken in beaten eggs and then coat in flour mixture again.
  11. Step 11: Heat about 1/2-inch of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry chicken breasts until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side.
  12. Step 12: Assemble biscuits by spreading a layer of honey butter on the bottom half of each biscuit, followed by a piece of fried chicken and finally the top half of the biscuit.
