Description
A classic French quiche filled with bacon, onions, and Gruyère cheese.
Ingredients
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 9-inch pie crust
- 3 cloves garlic
- 6 slices bacon
- 0.5 cup heavy cream
- 1 large onion
- 4 large eggs
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 2 cups Gruyère cheese
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Step 2: Roll out the pie crust and place it in a 9-inch tart pan.
- Step 3: In a large skillet, cook the diced bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Step 4: In the same skillet, cook the diced onion until translucent. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Step 5: In a large bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, eggs, salt, and pepper.
- Step 6: Add the grated Gruyère cheese, cooked bacon, and onion mixture to the bowl and stir to combine.
- Step 7: Pour the egg mixture into the pie crust.
- Step 8: Bake the quiche for 35-40 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
- Step 9: Let the quiche cool for 10 minutes before serving.
