Description

A classic French quiche filled with bacon, onions, and Gruyère cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 9-inch pie crust
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 1 large onion
  • 4 large eggs
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups Gruyère cheese

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Step 2: Roll out the pie crust and place it in a 9-inch tart pan.
  3. Step 3: In a large skillet, cook the diced bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Step 4: In the same skillet, cook the diced onion until translucent. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Step 5: In a large bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, eggs, salt, and pepper.
  6. Step 6: Add the grated Gruyère cheese, cooked bacon, and onion mixture to the bowl and stir to combine.
  7. Step 7: Pour the egg mixture into the pie crust.
  8. Step 8: Bake the quiche for 35-40 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
  9. Step 9: Let the quiche cool for 10 minutes before serving.
