Ingredients

  • 0.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 Madagascar vanilla beans
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 0.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease two 8-inch (20cm) round cake pans and line the bottoms with parchment paper.
  2. Step 2: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Step 3: In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Step 4: Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition.
  5. Step 5: Gradually whisk the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Step 6: Scrape the seeds from the vanilla beans and whisk into the batter.
