Ingredients
- 0.5 cups granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 2 Madagascar vanilla beans
- 1 cup whole milk
- 0.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 0.5 cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease two 8-inch (20cm) round cake pans and line the bottoms with parchment paper.
- Step 2: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Step 3: In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Step 4: Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition.
- Step 5: Gradually whisk the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Step 6: Scrape the seeds from the vanilla beans and whisk into the batter.
- Step 7: Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and smooth the tops.
- Step 8: Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Step 9: Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
