Description

Ingredients
- 0.5 cup sugar
- 1 cup maple syrup
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 0.5 cup milk
- 0.25 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 6 slices bacon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Step 1: In a small bowl, combine yeast and warm milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt.
- Step 3: Add eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Step 4: Add yeast mixture to the dough and mix until smooth.
- Step 5: Knead the dough for 10 minutes until it becomes elastic.
- Step 6: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Step 7: Preheat oil in a deep frying pan to 350°F.
- Step 8: Punch down the dough and roll it out to 1/2-inch thickness.
- Step 9: Cut out doughnuts using a doughnut cutter or a glass.
