Description
Sweet and savory breakfast sausage links smothered in a rich maple glaze
Ingredients
- 1 pound pork sausage meat
- 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 cup maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Step 2: In a large bowl, combine sausage meat, brown sugar, mustard, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well with your hands until just combined.
- Step 3: Use your hands to shape the mixture into 8-10 sausage links.
- Step 4: Place the sausage links on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Step 5: Bake the sausage links for 15-20 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.
- Step 6: While the sausage is baking, prepare the maple glaze by whisking together the maple syrup and 1 tablespoon of water in a small bowl.
- Step 7: After the sausage has baked for 10 minutes, brush the maple glaze all over the links.
