Description
Stir-fried beef strips with vegetables and a savory sauce
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- Salt and pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 0.25 cup soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- Scallions
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 onion
- 1 cup carrots
- 1 lb beef
- 0.25 cup oyster sauce
Instructions
- Step 1: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
- Step 2: Add beef to the wok and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from wok and set aside.
- Step 3: In the same wok, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
- Step 4: Add onion and garlic to the wok and cook until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Step 5: Add broccoli and carrots to the wok and cook until tender, about 4-5 minutes.
- Step 6: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and cornstarch.
- Step 7: Pour the sauce into the wok and stir to combine. Bring the sauce to a boil and cook until thickened, about 1-2 minutes.
- Step 8: Return beef to the wok and stir to combine with the sauce.
- Step 9: Season with sesame oil, salt, and pepper to taste.
- Step 10: Garnish with chopped scallions and serve immediately.
