Description
Stir-fried beef and broccoli in a savory Mongolian sauce
Ingredients
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 tablespoon ginger
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic
- 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 0.25 cup soy sauce
- 1 lb beef
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper
- 0.25 cup oyster sauce
- 2 tablespoons sugar
Instructions
- Step 1: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Step 2: Add beef and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Step 3: In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
- Step 4: Add broccoli and cook until tender, about 3-4 minutes.
- Step 5: Add garlic and ginger and cook for 1 minute.
- Step 6: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
- Step 7: Pour sauce into the skillet and bring to a boil.
- Step 8: Return beef to the skillet and stir to coat with sauce.
- Step 9: Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until beef is coated and sauce has thickened.
- Step 10: Season with salt and pepper to taste.
