Description

Stir-fried beef and broccoli in a savory Mongolian sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 1 lb beef
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • 0.25 cup oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Step 2: Add beef and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. Step 3: In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
  4. Step 4: Add broccoli and cook until tender, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Step 5: Add garlic and ginger and cook for 1 minute.
  6. Step 6: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
  7. Step 7: Pour sauce into the skillet and bring to a boil.
  8. Step 8: Return beef to the skillet and stir to coat with sauce.
  9. Step 9: Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until beef is coated and sauce has thickened.
  10. Step 10: Season with salt and pepper to taste.
